Gas Furnaces – Household Appliances in Toronto

What with the changing environment the need for gas furnaces within homes is becoming a necessity, made easier through the different varieties. In the United States and Canada, most furnaces work on natural gas but there are several different kinds available. There are different fuel sources such as LPG (liquefied petroleum gas), wood, coal, fuel oil as well as electrical resistance heating.

There are several kinds of gas furnaces; the most common specification among them is conventional and condensing. Conventional have the ability to exhaust combustion gases faster and hotter than condensing furnaces, thus the gas can exit through the chimney before it is allowed to cool down. Through this, the heat exchange is not allowed time to collect as much heat from the combustion process.

Condensing furnaces are able to capture heat even if the combustion gases have cooled off and condensed. It uses two heat exchangers, one of which is the primary heat exchange and the other used to handle the exhaust gases of water and carbon dioxide which become corrosive due to condensation. Apart from these, there are specifications that can help you identify differences. There are stages in the operations of the Burner and Blower, which are controlled by how sophisticated the technology of the gas furnace actually is. These states range from single stage, two stage or dual stage, and modulating furnace.

A single stage furnace is less expensive than its counterparts and has only one “on” stage for the functions of its burner and blower. The two stages or dual stage have the advantage of electrical control through which you can alter the settings as per your needs. There are high and low settings, which you are able to change easily. Lastly, a modulating furnace has the capacity to go even further in letting you fine tune the settings of the heating. You can set the motor speed up to where you want it to be, say if you want to keep the temperature of the room close to the thermostat setting, a modulating surface will allow you to do just that.

In Toronto, you’re likely to find many manufacturing companies that sell furnaces but for high quality appliances come to Goodman Air conditioning and Heating. We have a large variety from which you’re bound to find the one you want. An example of these is the GMH95 Gas Furnace, which has the capacity to work at twice the speed of a regular furnace, all the while saving allowing you to save on expenses.
